Our Mill

Our Mill

Founded in 1956, Cartiere del Garda has built a strong legacy of excellence and innovation in the paper industry. In 1971, the company joined the German publishing group Bertelsmann, strengthening its leadership in coated woodfree papers and its position in the publishing market. After twenty-five years of sustained growth in profitability and market share, it entered a new strategic phase, leaving Bertelsmann in 1997 and becoming a founding member of the Lecta Group in 2000.

Ongoing investment has transformed the Riva del Garda mill into a highly efficient and competitive production facility, where industrial excellence goes hand in hand with advanced performance and a deep respect for the environment..

From 2026, Cartiere del Garda enters a new era as an independent entity, ready to shape its future by building on its prestigious heritage and its enduring commitment to innovation.

Sustainability and responsibility

Our commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and quality is reflected in our highly certified production processes. Continuous investment in technology and operations ensures outstanding efficiency, consistency, and performance in our production processes.

The Alto Garda Power cogeneration plant is a great example of investment that links industrial efficiency with social commitment, providing efficient energy to the paper mill and hot water to the municipality.

We are dedicated to transparency, providing our customers and stakeholders with comprehensive environmental information. This includes our annually audited EMAS Environmental Statement, as well as detailed product documentation such as Paper Profile, REACH compliance, Fibre Origin, and CEPI Ten Toes, which reports our carbon footprint according to CEPI standards
